Caska

Caska is interesting for all lovers of archeology and history.

Caska is located near Novalja. In this small place of rich history was once Cissa, a Roman city, which according to historians sank in the 4th century due to an earthquake.

There are only a few houses in Caska Bay today, but on its seabed is a submerged city. Diving can find the remains of buildings, but most of the sunken city is inaccessible due to the large deposits of silt, sand and seagrass. Of historic interest are the old tower (Tunera) - the tuna observatory and the remains of the Romanesque church of Sv. St. George on the hill above Caska with many early medieval and early Christian elements
