Novalja

The town of Novalja is located in the gentle bay of the northwestern part of the island of Pag. Ideal geographical location on important land and sea routes from the north to the south Adriatic enables it to have excellent transport connections with the land. Novalja is the main port and tourist center of the island.

Guests can choose from accommodation in contemporary rooms and suites in private homes, hotels, hostels, villas close to the city and several campsites in the wider city area.

The millennial history of Novalja can be read through numerous archeological finds and remains, among which a special place is occupied by the ancient Roman aqueduct from the 1st century, the only one of its kind on the Croatian Adriatic coast.

In Novalja there are the remains of three early Christian basilicas from the 4th and 5th centuries. The remains of the floor mosaic of a basilica are inside the Gothic church of Our Lady of the Rosary in the city center

Today, Novalja is a well-developed tourist town with well-developed infrastructure that successfully withstands a large population increase in summer months from 3500 to over 40,000.

Three large supermarkets are located at the entrance to the city, and in the city there are all the necessary shops, department store, post office, market, fish market.

Novalja nightlife offers a variety of options - from numerous cafes, bars and restaurants to everyone's taste and pocket. However, the main nightlife takes place at the nearby Zrce Beach, home to some of the world's most famous nightclubs. You can reach Zrce beach by car, well-organized public transport (bus) or on foot in about 30 minutes.
